2026 Citizen of the Year

2026 Barrett Township Citizen of the Year

Peter Pipolo

Rotary of the Pocono Mountains would like to announce the
2026 Citizen of the Year winner, Peter Pipolo!

Peter will have a tree planted at Ice Lake in her honor and will also be the
Grand Marshal at the Barrett Township Halloween Parade.

Peter has dedicated his time to Rotary of the Pocono Mountains for 17 years, the Knights of Columbus, Monroe County Meals on Wheels, ensuring that neighbors receive not only nourishment but also friendship and compassion. Through his work with the American Red Cross, he has answered the call whenever people have needed help the most.

If you’ve spent any time in this community, you’ve probably seen Peter volunteering at an event, helping behind the scenes, or stepping in whenever someone needed assistance. He doesn’t do it for recognition or applause. He does it because that’s simply who he is. The strongest communities are built by people who show up—not once, but over and over again—with kindness, humility, and a willingness to serve. He reminds us that one person truly can make a difference and that leadership is measured not by titles but by acts of service.

Peter, thank you for your generosity, your unwavering commitment to this community,

and for inspiring all of us to do a little more for others!
